After watching the official start of the Iditarod in Willow, one of our guests checked into our Forget-Me-Not Cottage to take advantage of the beautiful views here in Alaska!
The Iditarod, one of Alaska’s biggest sporting events, began with a ceremonial start in Anchorage on Saturday, March 5th, only 45 miles from AKBCC. The next day, the race officially began in Willow, about an hour away from AKBCC in the opposite direction.
Living in the lower 48, this guest has visited Alaska before and knew of the beauty! He planned his trip looking forward to practicing his new-found hobby of photography! This picture of the Old Knik River Bridge is his favorite!
I am so grateful this guest so graciously shared his photos with me! I would love to give him credit for his work, however he insists on remaining anonymous!!
As always, I totally enjoy the guests who stay with us at Alaska Backcountry Cottages, I hope to see this gentleman again!
