AKBCC Favorite Five Restaurants

by | Jul 28, 2021

Palmer has many delicious restaurants. I love this title “AKBCC Favorite Five Restaurants” when in reality there are more than five that we love!  Here I’ll highlight five of our favorites!

Noisey Goose Alaska

Noisy Goose is a cozy home-town restaurant located at 1980 Glenn Hwy. The owners, Bill and Glenda Nafus, began their adventure in 1985. After 4 hard-working years, these entrepreneurs mastered the art of home-style cooking!  As a result, Noisy Goose is popular, not just to those visiting from out of town, but is a favorite of the locals! Noisy Goose is about 19 Minutes from Alaska Backcountry Cottages.

Ale House in Alaska

Palmer City Alehouse is located in a historic building at 320 E Dahlia Ave. about 16 minutes from AKBCC. The Palmer Alehouse is a family friendly neighborhood pub and restaurant with a cool vibe and 44 taps of local craft beers. Their menu contains Salads, Burgers, Pizza, Tex-Mex and the Alehouse has an entire gluten free menu! The Music and events are great fun!! You can check out the the schedule here.
Alaska Best Philly

Alaska’s Best Philly’s is a  new family operated restaurant. Alaska’s Best is an attractive restaurant serving Philly’s, Wings, Burgers, Gyros, Salads, Specialty Sandwiches, Homemade Soups and Kids meals. Alaska’s Best has Dine-In, Pick up and Deliveries. Alaska’s Best Philly’s is right in the heart of Downtown Palmer. “All of our meals are made with love, care, and a pinch of our deliciously secret house seasoning.” Located at 550 S Alaska St., Alaska’s Best is about 16 minutes from AKBCC.

Alaska Brewery
Matanuska Brewing Company has handcrafted beer available in stores all over Alaska.  At 513 S Valley Way, the Brewing Company is about 16 minutes from Alaska Backcountry Cottages. Matanuska Brewing Company is distributed by KNL Distributors on a statewide level. On this site you can find their food and beer menus for their different locations.

pizza in Alaska

Pizza Ria Delphi is a delightful  restaurant that first opened their doors in 1978. The original owners, Bill and Kiki Karagounis, my personal friends, moved to Alaska from a small town in Greece. Together with Bill’s brother, Tony, they built a business based on honesty, bountiful portions and original recipes. The restaurant was sold to a friend, John Christensen, and now there are two locations, one in Palmer and one in Wasilla. The Palmer location has recently had beautiful renovations and now includes complementary piano playing Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings. Located at 101 E Arctic Ave STE C, Pizza Ria Delphi is 15 minutes from Alaska Backcountry Cottages.

I enjoy eating  at these wonderful restaurants in Palmer! These favorite five restaurants are all under 15 minutes away from Alaska Backcountry Cottages!

Eating out is about more than just a dining room away from home. The friendly environments and beautiful settings have their own unique ambience!  Enjoy these restaurants and see for yourself!

Fantastic!

What a great place! Everything you need and very well designed. Great amount of counter space 👌. The views out the front window and deck are fantastic. – Mike H.

Highly Recommended!

This place is wonderful! The view of the mountain range is excellent and the spot is secluded if your looking to wind down. Highly recommended if you are wanting to adventure in the Palmer-Wasilla area. The cottage was clean and the bed was comfortable. The owner left milk, a few eggs, coffee, oatmeal and snacks for us. It was a nice surprise. – Courtney D.
