Fall in Alaska

by | Sep 30, 2020

The colors are beautiful during Fall in Alaska! The Alaska.org weather calendar tells us we’re losing daylight by about 5 minutes a day during September through the Alaska fall. The daily loss of daylight has always been fun for me to witness! Travelalaska.com explains that Autumn in Alaska is less a Season than a transition between summer and winter. The intense summer, preparing for the rapidly approaching winter wears many Alaskan’s out and motivates them to relax at AKBCC in September!
After a scenic 40 minute drive from Anchorage you’ll arrive at the PERFECT location and enjoy a 270 degree view of the surrounding mountains.
Alaska Backcountry Cottages is a peaceful place to stay while recuperating from a summer of activity. We have two cottage styles – with and without a loft. Both styles are stand-alone, full-service, cottages, with all the amenities needed to feel at home. Our smaller cottages, house 4 guests with two queen size beds, and the larger cottages have 3 queen size beds with a maximum capacity of 6.
Situated in the heart of the Knik River glacial valley and nestled in the backyard of the Chugach Mountains, beauty is everywhere you look!
With our brand new, beautifully decorated full service cottages with amazing views, our tagline β€œYou won’t want to leave!” has become reality! I am having the time of my life getting to know the visitors who stay with us at Alaska Backcountry Cottages!

Highly Recommended!

This place is wonderful! The view of the mountain range is excellent and the spot is secluded if your looking to wind down. Highly recommended if you are wanting to adventure in the Palmer-Wasilla area. The cottage was clean and the bed was comfortable. The owner left milk, a few eggs, coffee, oatmeal and snacks for us. It was a nice surprise. – Courtney D.
